Am hearing that the Treasurer of AKA Qld has declared that the administration is bordering on becoming insolvent ?... and that they may not have the funds to meet there debts ? It seems that not all is running smoothly up here in Qld and that Club Delegates have been informed that they must now pay there own way when attending AKA Qld committee meetings ?
I am trying to follow the paper trail of what has happened since the new administration took over.. but am receiving many conflicting stories and am not sure what to believe.
This has all been going on for a few weeks now and the issues put forward by the new treasurer have not been solved yet. Any enquiries I have made have met a dead end and no information seems to be coming forward. Can anyone else shed any light on this subject before its to late and we are declared broke, done... gone ?

Have just received an email with a full report from the new President and Treasurer. Will take me awhile to not only read it.. but to figure out how to put it up on here. Back soon.
its probably not something they want put on a open forum Pete, figures that is, but a interesting state of affairs if correct, puts the national body a in a pickle as well, ie can they have a insolvent member??? the last AKA body to trade insolvent was the national body some years ago, avoided it by dipping into track developement funds. what happened in QLD ??????
Basically Paul... what happened was the Ipswich committee werent happy with the way they were being treated by the old AKAQld hierachy, so they formed a group and had the previous crew voted out.. and have then taken over the AKA admin... not knowing how to run the show after having little or no experience. Its quite a good read.. and am almost finished.
pete how do u manage to find all this info out
Kris... hang around the sport every day for 30-40 years and you end up with alot of friends.. if you're a good bloke and you earn peoples respect. I try to verify what I hear as much as possible before commenting. Its not often I am wrong.. some would say never so far... but no-ones perfect right ?
That can't be right! They were only voted in a couple of months ago so they INHERITED the problem NOT created it !! To say these people do not know "how to run the show" & "have little or no experience" reeks of an ulterior motive. I really hope you post what you have so we can make up our own mind. Richard.. I didnt state that the new administration had caused the financial dilemma. I haven't said WHOs fault it was... yet !
I can state that the current president and the current treasurer have not got alot of experience in running the AKA admin. That is a fact and beyond dispute. As you have said.. they are NEW... next !
The test of Insolvency is CURRENT ASSETS less CURRENT LIABILITIES. I have the audited Balance Sheet at 30 June 2011 which shows current assets at $495,273 with current liabilities at $ 28,289 a SURPLUS of $466,984--- hardly insolvent!
At 31 December 2011 these figures were CA of $491,388 with CL of $63,167 a SURPLUS of $428,221----hardly insolvent!
What could have happended in the last 12 months?
Richard...Here is an extract from the treasurers report dated end of December 2012.. I dont know how to put up the full report from him and the President yet.. as its quite long. I will figure out how to do it when my mate gets home and shows me how.
Current Treasury Status We now have a MYOB data file to start 2012/13 from, using the 2012 audit report to establish opening balances. Data entry of 2012/13 data is occurring as stated previously. We are continuing to correspond with GJ Walsh to obtain a list of corrections to the 2011/12 data file and a breakdown of his statement of account. We will get all outstanding invoices paid and all invoices out to clubs very soon. We will present the financial reports and for July to December at the same time At this point the association is in a precarious financial position and future expenditure will have to be carefully considered if we are not to become close to or indeed completely insolvent.Richard LosperTreasurerAKA QLD Inc
that last line Peter is indeed worrying for QLDers. first fix it then never let it happen again.
Richard .. I do have an ulterior motive. It is to get rid of all the clowns running this sport at the moment. I try to play fair and only use facts as weapons. I do not have any financial gain or anything else to achieve by doing what I am doing.. other than to expose those who wish to deceive us. My only mission is to get this sport sorted as was the plan 10 years ago.. so that I may return and take up where I left off before all this shit started. It is not my aim to upset you or anyone else that may have personal attachments to these people. richard gagie said:

From what I have been told.. the AKA Qld is nowhere near broke.. and this is just a beat up by the new committee to make the themselves look good. The new committee have failed to do there bookwork properly and are only now starting to realise there mistakes. The books appear to be fine.
No doubt we will hear from them soon...
