There has been a lot of negativity about the AKA and let’s face we as human beings find it in our nature, the need to complain .
However, as the heading state, this is number 3 in the positive threads I’ve started in an attempt to overpower the dark side on this forum!
I am grateful for the organisation that we operate under!
Thanks to the Australian Karting Association we have the ability to pack up the trailer and travel to any club in Australia safe in the knowledge that our equipment will be legal to use.
It is a wonderful thing to have a National set of rules that allow this to happen.
Classes that are defined and 7 states and territories that try to work harmoniously for the betterment of the sport.
Sure there are problems and sure there have been some bad apples .....yep that’s life.
What defines us is the ability to continue to improve and rise above the negativity (and knockers)
For every bad event or decision there are 20 good ones that are too easily forgotten in our insatiable need to criticise something or someone.
Thank you all the dedicated AKA officials who make it possible for us to race every weekend somewhere.
Thank you to all the rule makers – we don’t always agree or like the decisions, but at least we can apply them nationally (State Governments can’t work as well and they get paid!!!!)
The AKA is a great organisation that can be made even better with lots of proactive contributions from those who use it.
And yes – my cup is half full!!
Cheers
:)

Ian, you're absolutely right. I've been guilty of being critical of the AKA for various reasons on occasion, but it has to be said... 99% of my involvement in karting has been with the AKA, and I LOOOOOVE karting so the organisation must be doing something right!
(PS... love what you're doing here :)
Yes Steve,
you are totally correct and dubious decision making or worse should and must be made known.
I just read post after post of everything that is wrong with the sport or more correctly the administration of it
and figure there are so many positives that the new comers should hear about.
There is time enough to get involved in the politics of the sport.
If people don’t agree then these posts won’t get replied to and they will get lost down the tree.
I just want the new guy to see the benefits to themselves and a family orientated sport where everyone can join in.
Long term friendships made and forged in the heat of battle.
It’s easy to be critical, it’s just that little bit harder to find something good to say.
Thanks for your comment.

Cheers Col,
You know what it is about (wink)
Keep taking the happy pills Yoda. But don't let them out of SA or kartbook may become a karting love fest. No insults, no name calling, no moderators - what will Fongy do?
FURZ
PS. There are hundreds of blissfully ignorant happy karting families out there who have fun every weekend so you're right, for the vast majority the AKA is doing a good job.
