7/8 November will see the 2009 Australian TAG125 Endurance Titles being contested at the Raleigh Raceway on the North Coast of NSW.
Event is open to all TAG125 engines, Rotax, Leopard, Fireball, Cheetahs, even the Biland.
Run on MG Red tyres.
Light [160kg] Heavy [ 180]
275 laps
$300 per team, entry fee, includes free practice Friday.
2 drivers max 3.
Camping available at the track.
Come and experience a very challenging format at one of the BEST tracks in Australia. No support classes so there is plenty of track time available. A low pressure but highly rewarding event depsite finishing positions is guaranteed.
The Raleigh Raceway just showed what it has to offer to the Rotax Protour in a sprint format, now experience the venue in endurance mode. With a pitlane offering the same experience as the v8s have with individual drive to pit bays, where LIVE action takes place, NO TIMED pits stops at this event its all LIVE, adding to excitement.
Endurance racing offers so much more to karters, as it requires a TEAM to be succesful, not the individual, with a second or third driver, pitcrews involved in refueling and tyre changes and repairs, success is very much dependant on the team work. Strategy is not a spur of the moment thing that sprint racing often requires, every thing has to thought through as a spur of the moment action may lead to disaster. When to pit, when to do the tyre change, how hard to race, what about safety Karts will I pit or not??? all the things that have to be planned for and there are plenty that can't be planned for as well. A qualifying system that involves the two team drivers adds to the emphasis on TEAM, as the event revolves around that word.
The racing is tough and fast but clean as any silly attempt to pass that could see damage can see their race go out the window hence a clear head must prevail. Preperation and reliability is as important as speed in endurance events, as some minor things that can be fixed in between heats in a sprint race cannot be in a endurance event. The 125 engines have prooven to be quite suitable for this type of racing and the MG Red tyre is quite capable of lasting the distance as many teams simply replace the same tyre at the tyre change, and parity is no concern from the teams.
Entries will soon open, 1st September, anyone wanting more info just let me know at phewitt77@bigpond.com will be glad to apss on.

Awesome.
I'm in.
I will be there . is there top ten shoot out
Good to hear you will be there Robbie,
At this stage we are staying with the 2 x 10 min qualfying sessions where driver A sets a time driver B sets a time in the second session and combined times make the team time which the fastest team time gets the pole etc. BUT if you guys WANT a top ten we can do that if you, like majority rule.
Hi Pete,
NO its NOT a AKA event, its also NOT and NKA event, nor Prokart event, its entirely run by the RALEIGH RACEWAY, and is FULLY licenced to do so by same government bodies that licence the AKA.
There is NO extra charge for any licence requirements as its all inclusive of the entry fee.
