My involvement in karting extends all the way back to 1992 when I first began racing in the Snr National and Clubman light class’s. Working as a Panel Beater for 15 years and then in the aeronautical industry. I spent many years involved in drag racing cars and bikes with also a small stint in speedway. I have always prepared my own engines, and in 1995 I relented to external pressure and agreed to start building engines for others. Later to go onto as the go kart engine builder/mechanic and kart shop manager at Kel Treseder's KKP shop for a few years, which I helped him earn his first national title and many state titles. At the end of 2005 my wife and I decided it was time to establish our own business, and MG Engines was born at the start of 2006 and we ran it only as part time, while I still worked full time building aircrafts. By 2008 the volume of work was such that I could no longer run the business part time, and MG Engines became a full time operation for me and my wife Rabecca.

We have a fully-equipped workshop on site utilizing state of the art equipment to ensure precision and accuracy. We pioneered the idea of sealing customer engines with our own MG Engines branded seals, which give our customers peace of mind that the work performed is to the highest standards, as we are literally willing to stake our reputation on it.

Located just five minutes from the local track, we not only serve as an important cog in the Bundaberg karting landscape but also with many surrounding areas, providing regular track side support and service, and helping to sustain the vibrant karting community both locally, around the state and around the country. We provide engine building services to many karting suppliers which are MG Engines dealers (In Darwin, Vic, WA, Nth Qld) who do not have the skills or equipment required to provide a professional engine building service on their own. Our own customer base extends as far as Darwin to the north and Hobart to the south. We only recently started building engines fro a customer base in Asia, with great success already winning the Asia championships in the first year.

We presently act as dealers for both Rotax and IAME engines, Arrow, Kosmic, Tony Kart, Lenzo/Luxor, Energy karts, and all the major accessories brands distributed through the four major karting distributors in Sydney and Melbourne.

Our engines and track support has contributed to the success of a number of National Champions, included Kel Treseder, Cian Fothergill, Troy Loeskow, the Greenbury brothers, etc, with more than 12 Green plates secured in total in multiple classes. State and closed state Championships - we've lost count, but certainly well into the hundreds. Our latest success was having Marcos Flack put it on the front row of the Rok International World Titles 2018. MG Engines specialize in all the engines with great success, from Cadets racing 60cc, Juniors with 100cc to Adults racing the pinnacle 125cc classes of the sport. Our number one goal is to provide consistent top performing engines every time.
