Is there anyone running unleaded race gas ?
Apart from AvGas being a safer/easier fuel to tune with is there any performamce difference between the 2 fuels ?
Am I right in saying with Av you can bump up the Comp but unleaded will give a higher peak hp ?
Thanks
Ant

Talk to Mike Davies and he will be able to answer your question as he just went through the same thing. :)
I ran Premium Unleaded in the Stock Honda and I would not recommend it to anyone who is not experienced in two stroke tuning. I will not be running it in the 250 National but instead will be using AVGAS for the extra safety margin.
If you change to AVGAS, you will need more compression and ignition timing to give optimum results. Whatever difference there is in performance, is small and comes at a cost of a smaller safety margin - that has been my experience; others might have seen different results :)

Allan.

I run unleaded avgas Ant in the stock Honda and when I last ran the twin. It's all we can get now in QLD. I don't know the difference in tune mate you would be better off speaking to Winner or Stocky.

You mean low lead AVGAS? they don't make unleaded AVGAS, as but definition AVGAS is a leaded fuel. They just don't make the high lead version anymore

Re: Unleaded race fuel
Now that is an interesting question and I would also like to know that answer too. Elf do claim an increase in HP for the large donation of money that you need for a drum of it.
Maybe, you can ask Wizzer as he has experience on both fuels.
