You saw it first on Superkartaus.com/Forums - SZR innovates again for AIM karting products.
First it was the much needed and highly popular battery eliminator for MyChron2 and MyChron3 products, now for the MyChron4 which has great on screen data feedback and menu system, it lacks one very important feature for shifter karts - Progressive Shift Lights.
All after market automotive products rely on a digital square wave input to sample RPM from the ECU, however most karts use CDI's without a digital RPM output signal. This means that for automotive tachos to work on karts, they must have a Analouge to Digital converter so that the signal can be sampled from the spark plug wire and converted to a clean digital signal (5-12v square wave)
SZR has prototyped it's own circuit and successfully tested it for the first time at Wakefield Park on 25th Nov using an AIM MXL dashboard to verify it's operation. A production sample has now been made which was connected to the spark plug wire of a Stock Honda which only then did it operate this automotive progressive shift light product.
The pictures below show the end result when coupled with the MyChron4 dashboard.
For those who may be intrested, GMP Racing Products - sponsor and supporter of Australian Stock Honda Superkarting, retails this aftermarket shift light product and is the only place who can bundle the required SZR Analogue to Digital RPM interface converter to operate it from the spark plug wire.
*Note - This shift light system on it's own does not support CDI ignitions.

Re: Need Progressive Shift Lights?
I have a spare shift-i that I'd like to hook up on my stonda.
Re: Need Progressive Shift Lights?
The RPM Conditioner is only available from GMP Racing Products with the purchase of the Shift Lights.
I'm doing this because GMP have been a sponsor of Stock Honda Superkarts in the past and continue to service and support superkarters and their sport. The price is $50 extra for the RPM circuit.
Because you already have a spare Shift-I and plan to hook it up to a Stock Honda, I will supply one separate to you at $50. This will be the only one sold separately.
Pictures below on the size and the connections are easy as!

The Green wire can be just cable tied to the RPM wire on the back of the MyChron 4 dash. No need to send it back to the spark plug wire if your MyChron 4 tacho wire is already there.......like I said, easy as!
Re: Need Progressive Shift Lights?
Ill transfer today, send whenever you have the chance.

Re: Need Progressive Shift Lights?
One M8 bolt holds the MyChron4 dashboard, shift lights and beacon receiver to the steering wheel.
Neat setup if I say so myself. ;)
