Hi all
I used my new Mychron 5 it for the first time on my twin on the weekend and it wasn't displaying the EGTs correctly.
The sensors showed incorrect readings that never really went above 60c. I have used a Mychron 4 2T with the same application on a twin cylinder engine, which correctly showed readings up to 600c.
I swapped EGT sensors and the Y cable around to rule out if they were faulty, but it didn't make a difference. I even upgraded the firmware but nothing changed.
At one point during the day, the Mychron changed the on screen labeling on one of the temperatures to CHT, despite the fact I wasn't running a CHT sensor.
Is there anything I can do? Has something been incorrectly set up? Or could the unit be faulty?
Thanks
Matt Ramsden.

Were the readings moving around at all? Have you downloaded the data to see if the trends make sense? Sure it's just not a scaling issue? I.E. If temperatures start at 0.25c then move up to 15c when you start the engine, then range up to 60c when you are at full throttle, then you have a scaling setup problem with it being one decimal place out.
Re: Mychron 5 2T - help!
Yes they were moving around but they didn't show 0.X they were definently whole numbers on the dash, but under power they never went above 90c. However, when I downloaded the data one of the EGTs was accurate and showed what it should be (inconsistent with the dash) but the other was low and jumping all over the place in between 20 to 60c.
How do I check if it is a scaling issue? Just to be sure.
Matt.
