Guys, I'm planning to do a full days testing in the twin at Lakeside on the 9th September.
We will need atleast x5 karts to get our own Superkarts only sessions for the day...
If anyone else is keen to come along please PM or call me so I can lock it in ...
Cheers,
Ant

Haha... I'm married you just need to lay down the rules ...

Or the alternative is what Johnny West does in the US.
Whatever he spends on his kart racing he has to spend on his wife :o!
I like that idea a lot ;D.

Trace,
Did Johnny tell you he has to spend the equal amount on his wife in diamonds?
Maybe if we meet her in August you will get the drift how much Johnny spends on his karts......or ask Stocky next time :o
Doesn't work with me love....so don't start getting any ideas. :D
Re: Lakeside Practice 9th September
Atleast you got a pimpd out Stock Honda, I bet Johnny's wife doesn't have that ;)

Any help would be appreciated .. Ozylink.

Re: Lakeside Practice 9th September
mate all you need to do is turn up, sign the relevent forms and pay the fees applicable ($120 for practice and $60 for a 1 event licence) and just do it. If you have anymore questions feel free to ring me on 0417769336 or email zahl2009@tpg.com.au and I will gladly help you out where ever I can.
Re: Lakeside Practice 9th September
Give Ash a call mate and he can answer any questions you may have, he is the president of the QLD webmaster Club.
You will need a full face helmet, cordura karting suit, gloves and boots.
Apart from filling out your AASA License forms and entry on the morning of the practice day you will be ready to rock n roll mate.
If I can reccommend anything it would be that you give your kart a good once over prior to practice day ie general spanner check, start the kart on a stand and check for water/fuel leaks etc
We will get approx 6 sessions for the day so we all try to make our karts as clean and reliable as possible to avoid any loss of track time.
Will be great to meet you and there will be plenty of knowledgeable guys there to help and answer any of your Q's ...
Cheers,
Ant

It's clear to me, Dougie is looking down on his nose cone thinking "now that is a good polish job".

Let me know if you need any help with the freight.
Re: Lakeside Practice 9th September
Cheers Ant, they sent Wayne the wrong ignition for the engine so we just have to wait for the correct one now. Should be good to go on the weekend for Morgan Park though.

Hi Jason,
Plenty of time to make the lakeside test. You should put it in with Ants other, no another one of Ants Karts thats coming over ;) ;D. That would save you both on half of the extra bullsh*% hidden unquoted fees that AQIS and customs charge. See below and thats minus GST and DUTY as this kart came in on a 12 month CARNET.
Description Foreign Currency AU GST AUD TOTAL AUD
Origin Customs Fees NZD 19.25 16.65 0.00 16.65
Carnet Fee NZD 150.00 129.74 0.00 129.74
Origin Inland Freight NZD 95.38 82.49 0.00 82.49
Origin Charges 228.88 0.00 228.88
AirFreight Documentation Fee NZD 12.50 10.81 0.00 10.81
AirFreight Documentation Fee NZD 40.00 34.60 0.00 34.60
International Freight NZD 625.40 540.91 0.00 540.91
Security Fee NZD 6.00 5.19 0.00 5.19
Freight Charges 591.51 0.00 591.51
Airline & Documentation Handling Charge 216.67 21.67 238.34
Administration Fee 77.00 7.70 84.70
AQIS Fees 145.00 0.00 145.00
CMR Compliance Fee - Destination 31.00 3.10 34.10
Destination Handling Charges 77.00 7.70 84.70
Destination Charges 546.67 40.17 586.84
Customs Clearance Fee 160.00 16.00 176.00
Quarantine Assessment Fee 31.00 3.10 34.10
Total, $1600 plus AU for AIR Frieght. It took 11 days from pickup in Wellington to Depot Melbourne for me to pick up.
As you can see. Welcome to Australia, bend over please!!!!!!!!
Whats in bold was quoted and is Kiwi dollars, the rest is after it arrived and remember I asked for an ALL UP NO UNFORSEEN CHARGES EXCEPT FOR A QUARANTINE BASED STEAM CLEAN Quote!!!!!!
The quarantine assesment fee is to decide wether or not to cut the tape on the top of the box
The quarantine fee is to cut the tape on the box and leave it open if they choose.
Sending a Kart to NZ is a Door to door under 72 hours and is right on the Quoted price.
The Carnet fee is to read a one page document and stamp/sign it.
Recently I organised the same sized shipment be SEA to Australia but without a carnet so GST and DUTY on a $2500AU value shipment, The quoted price with gst and Duty was $1150 and 8 days door to door. It took almost 4 weeks and cost $1970 AU .
This was with a high profile AU/NZ freight company.
Good luck chaps, Its hard to beat DHL prices and thats who ill use from now on.
Re: Lakeside Practice 9th September
Now a billet engine is around 36kg plus pipes and carbs. Take both barrels and pistons off the rods, Take the gearbox internals out, give your mate the pipes, mufflers, ignition, g/box, carbs for his suitcase and you put the engine in your suitcase. When they ask at checkin what it is, say its a collectable sewing machine.
The result is the cheapest airfrieght/ 2 movies/ meals and 23 hours door back to door.
;D ;D ;D :D :D :D
