After repeated requests to inspect the AKA financial accounts and continual delay tactics from AKA quoting 'proper' processes by the AKA Secretariat, and then those processes being followed by the member, we now have another " don't show them scheme" to further delay a State Member (QLD) to inspect the accounts.
The AKA Constitution Item at Rule 41 allows any member of the AKA Inc. to inspect any book of the AKA - for some reason the same crew that think they are Director of the Board material and want to be re-elected at the AGM at the end of the month, are now attempting to violate the constitution by proposing late agenda to change the constitution to further restrict any members to inspect the accounts ....!!!
WHY ????
Have they done something illegal ??? Something that they do not want the members to know ??? Why do people work so hard to keep others from seeing what they are entitled to see ????
Read what the tactic now is, and also check who the author is by looking at the properties of the document attached ....expert advice or just hiding a wrong doing ????

Application may be able to be made through the Department of Fair Trading, or its equivalent in Victoria, as I think that's where the AKA are registered?
I believe under the Associations act they may not be acting entirely within the law?
It could have something to do with the rumored legal expenses involved in the clutch issue, it could be to do with the ACCC, or it could be to do with the $270K loan?
Dear Ralph,
Nobody has ever been refused access to the accounts.
TRUE FACTS are that a full set of account documents are supplied to every State Secretary on or before the 15th of each and every month.
Exception is of June 2009 figures, because the Accounts are with the QLD Chosen Auditor, who, as is usual every year, is preparing them for an Audited set to be released at the AGM this month.
Max.
Hi Max
When your executive points out the rule for inspections and its requirements, and then the same executive attempts to violate the same constitution by attempting to introduce a greater restrictive method outside the requirements of the same constitution that governs inspection of the books, and as late agenda , for a meeting without proper notice, indicates to me and many others that your executive is trying to prevent inspection, and at great length. .!... And when the properties of the document reveal that the content of the "late agenda" which is distributed contrary to the constitution, and I may add contrary to the Incorporation Act (eg the Law) has come from the AKA legal source then it further compounds that something is up .!
I agree that a full set of financial reports are sent each month to each of the States and due by the 15th of each month under AKA policy ...but you know what Max -! It was me that fought for 7 years to get that introduced - so it was none of your doing, it was persistence that got that put that place because previous Treasurers thought that the AKA accounts were not for viewing or required to be seen by the people who own the funds until 8 months after the close of the financial year..??? Too late too sorry – one AKA Secretary was jailed for 3 years as a result of dipping into those funds simply because no one was allowed to see the books .!!!!
You say " the June financials have not been sent because the Accounts are with the QLD Chosen Auditor” – Max, take the glasses off, smell the roses mate – QLD did not choose the auditor the NKC chose the auditor to replace the previous one or can’t you remember that …………!!
Keep well Max ..
Cheers
Ralph
must have sliped his(MAX) mind with all that is happening with ACCC and court case.

I just does not add up ... the accounts say they (AKA) have an Investment Account - SG509 for $257,000.00 so one would imagine that will be in a bank as that is the requirement of keeping funds ..is the reference SG - St.George ?? 5 as May - and 09 the year ??? ...Trying to find out is being hampered by someone ......but why ...??? anyone know...??
AKA Qld never asked to see accounts. We only asked to see the "investment and securety" documents relating to the latest investment. Nothing else. But we will not see them apparently.
The rule states you are permitted to inpsect any book and record of the Association.. the request nearly 4 weeks ago was as follows:
request to inspect all the books of record IAW with Article #41 of the Constitution of the AKA Inc and in particular any item that may involve the issue of any financial transactions or funds to St.George Karts or any other industry in the period February 2009 through to July 2009
I just can't find the rule in the constitution that says you can say NO...
John,
Never asked for the Accounts? ............. Then you should tell Ralph?? ....... is not the heading of this thread "INSPECTION OF FINANCIAL ACCOUNTS REFUSSED?????" ........ and has that not been the content of Ralphs posts?
I will say it again, THERE HAS BEEN NO REFUSAL!!
Max.

Generally when something has been asked for and nothing has been given, then it has been refused.... am i right?
Transparency is needed when it comes to the karters cash, to prevent what has happened in the past.
Adam,
A FULL SET of AUDITED Accounts were supplied to each and every State (Including QLD) Last week.
The same were presented at the AGM at the week end.

Max,
On saturday, you waived letters from Qld around at the AKA AGM and shit canned queensland because we asked questions and take up "too much of your time". Read the letter you were waiving around. we asked to see two documents. Errdmann commented that we will never see them. Not only is that unconstitutional, it is illegal. Let's hope we don't end up on that road.
Perhaps you should contact me to find out why we are asking..........and stop rubbishing one of your members so that everyone can move forward.
Max,
Im only stirring. I dont know you.Just the same as i dont know the happenings in this aka political issue, nor do i care to. I will leave that up to the people who enjoy it. Im just taking the piss out of forums and their heated arguments with no outcome or effect in the end, but when legal action was mentioned it took the fun out of it for me. Ill just stick to winding fanatics up in the general discussion area in future.
