In reading the BAM release on some of the National Conference discussions and decisions, I see no one wants Governance.
Thus AKA can ignore Governance for ever, because it was voted down. Well, that seems to be the spin anyway.
Do we NOT want Governance?
I don't think so. We just don't want the latest proposal where the incumbents appointed themselves to the board. I really believe we both want and need governance. Something very much after the 2005 approved model.

You are right Terry - it needed a 75% vote to get up - if you look at the stats on that, 2 States did not approve of the Executive putting themselves in the positions on the board - two states correctly identified the sham ...two states also said that we want skilled people sitting on the board , and two states also said we want the CLUBS as the voters not the state bodies.. and it is those two states who are the only ones who identified the sham - the attempted bullshit idea orchestrated by the outgoing executive...it failed as it should have..
However that means that the rest of the states have either sold out their clubs or the clubs of those 5 states dont give a shit .....those 5 states did not want the clubs to have a say -??? yet it is the clubs that provide the tracks to go karting - it is the clubs that have the members who buy the licences and provide the finances to the association - yet 5 of the State delegates ( on the instructions of their own state clubs..???? ) told their delegate to agree to have the clubs have no say at all .....dont want skilled people running the show ??????. I just cannot believe that 5 other States told their delegates to agree to the sham ...can you ???
The details certainly need more thrashing out - we have a lot to lose here
I am told that the delegates 'decided' to shelve 'governance' for 12 months.
That is not recorded in the minutes and I suspect not one delegate had authority from his/her state to put that up let alone agree to it.
The actual position of governance is that by early 2008, the entire proposed constitution had been agreed to so all that was needed was for it to be implemented.
Then, the very people governance was designed to remove, started moving the winning posts by firstly decreeing that the NKC would elect the first board. I doubt you'd find that in the minutes either. Then, the very people governance was designed to remove but who had decided they would elect the first board, decided that they needed a portfolio on each board candidate and a rating chart. Why the wonderful know everything NKC delegates would need this when shareholders elect real boards without it either just beggars belief or raises disturbing concerns about 'fair' elections.
From that point, the various unrequested by anyone except the secretariat changes began appearing, culminating in the astonishing fianale where someone unskilled could be elected to the board regardless. Appalling.
The approved constitution from 2005 - 2008 needs to be implemented and implemented now before the Association goes further backwards. I doubt it is even on the agenda because the NKC we need to be rid of think they actually do a good job.
We need to hope and pray that Ian Mooney beats the SA incumbent for the SA NKC delegate spot and does something to progress governance asap.

Given that the Governance model has already been approved, should not THAT have been the proposal put to the vote? And not the diluted, modified, turned-about-face version presented. I know it's a question I keep askng, but WHY are WE letting this happen, and keep on happening???
Well Dennis, sorry to say 'we' haven't got Ian Mooney on the NKC and as I suspect he did not throw his hat in the ring for any other South Australian position, may not have his influence either. But I think he's getting a bit soft, the old fella, you know, Adelaide Hills, winerys, distant Southern Ocean, soft, cool sea breeze, Lance Armstrong dropped by to say hello etc.
What utterly amazed was the temerity of the former delegate seeking re-election. In Monopoly, he and the others that voted in secret without instructions to lend St George $270k, would go directly to gaol and not pass go !

You Know what, The AKA might nit be doing the best job, BUT who is out there helping them? If you have time to whinge about it, do something about it or shut UP

You won't have to worry about him shutting up William, that's actually Jiani Mazza pretending to be "Crazy Craig", for which he was banned, permanently.
what will janni do with himself now he might spend some time at the track leaning how to race properly instead of shit stirring everyone .

He might actually learn how to drill someone properly, rather than come screaming into the pits, then spin all on his own.
Jiani is harmless..... just a typical wog....means well but just failing badly at it.
the problem is everyone bags the aka for valid reasons i must add, but what are they actually doing about it....nothing but whinge......and moan and trust me I am tired of it.....and to make matters worse, my father in one of the worst to complain.
If they all got off their butt and actually attended a committe meeting or assisted at a race meeting they would find its harder than it looks.
Then when they actually did their bit they might be actually able to show controlling body that this is how its done or needs to be.
If people actually attended these meetings when the votes happen, then follow it through to make sure there passed on you would have nothing to complain about.....

Lucky for NSW we have some younger club people starting to take positions of control within clubs and running very successful events.
It is only when a new generation take control of state and national bodies will the current nonsence stop.
niven,
we need them on the SKC board as well not just the clubs.
NSW needs a lot of luck.
