I'll keep everyone posted on here on how im doing at the final round of the Winter Tour in Ocala, Florida.
I got my first taste of the track yesterday after travelling all of Tuesday. It is a tight track, with some fast sweepers at either end of the circuit. I was quick in the morning, but after making a few adjustments to the kart and putter some better tyres on i was around 1 tenth off the pace. Kart is consistent so in racing shouldnt have a problem, but we'll try and get some quicker laps early on.
Its Thursday morning now, and im about to head off to the track for another days practice. I'll keep everyone updated each night if possible.
Thanks

Go Dave! Wave the Aussie flag and show 'em just how good you are.
Best of luck.
Go Dave!
Dave,
All the best, I know how the Yanks reacted to your first two wins.
GO THE AUSSIE.
Where ever you cross the line you have done Australia and yourself proud.
Mark
First thing i have to mention is the weather is quite warm here in Ocala, something around 30 degrees. The track is rubbering up quite a bit, and the times are slowy dropping by the session. My fastest time of the day was a 37.4 on new tyres, which i think is probably the quickest anyone has been. There are a number of drivers around the 37.6 mark, just depending on when they put new tyres on in comparison to others.
There are a couple of goodf drivers (Pier-luc Oulette and Marco Di Leo) who havent put new tyres on so it will be interesting to see how everything pans out tomorrow.
We still have 1 more days practice, with our last 2 sessions tomorrow being timed to determine whether we go into the fast or slow group. ie. first 20 in fast and rest go into slow to stop traffic for qualifying.
I'll keep everyone back home updated and we'll see how we end up after tomorrows practice.
sounds good dude...good luck..pitty u arnt racing here this weekend i was up for a battle lol
Go david

Hey Dave,
How do the yanks compare to Aussies as far as driving go? Are they obviously more or less smooth/aggressive/sideways/straight? I've always wondered if the on track "culture" was different there...
Thanks for keeping us up to date dude.
Col.

If so say gidday from truey and dad and tell him to lay off the smokes ......lol
Who have u got in the pits? Anyone we know?
Good luck , we know "deadly " will "bury "them.

Hello Everyone,
We had 5 practice sessions today, the final two being timed. I topped both practice sessions which allocates your starting position on the track for qualifying. So ill have clear track for qualifying but the rest of the field in tow for 1 hot lap. Wasnt much in times for the first few, but all drivers except myself and Christophe Boisclair had new tyres on. We chose to get a good setup for the longer races we have today, and we are confident we have more pace then our rivals. Today we have a 10 min qualifying, then a 16 lap pre final and a 25 lap final.
To your question Col, the drivers are a lot smoother then we are back home, but are very consistent and strong over the longer parts of the race. They also are quite rough, and seem to use there nose cones a lot, but apparently there are enforcing quite strict penalties.
If anyone wants to keep in touch go to www.floridawintertour.com and follow the FWT Live to watch live timing, and also they have cameras around so you can watch the racing live too (i think)
Thanks and good luck to everyone at Geelong
Dave its bucketing down all day in Geelong and melb near a wash out.
You would be hopefully in better race conditions.
You got pole for qualifying. Sensational and the best of luck from all. I'm sure I can say this on behalf ( don't want to put me foot in it) OGKRC and DP .
Go for it from truey :-D
