Hey, how are you guys going with blow by at the exhaust manifold?
I've tried the Fastech 2 o-ring, Sharkshifter 4 o-ring, 1 brand new pipe and my old pipe, all in each combination. All blow by and the o rings are toasted every round.
Is it worth trying some other parts such as the standard steel seal manifold or is it just how it is with these things?
Cheers...

Re: Exhaust blow by and o-ring manifolds
Maybe try some exhaust goop as well.
Sam, what do you think.
I was told all I had to do was fuel and air.....what's this cleaning sh*t..?
Re: Exhaust blow by and o-ring manifolds
I have also noticed that the fit between the exhaust manifold and pipe is very loose compared to other brands. I will look into slightly large o'rings - maybe imperial sizes to find a better match?
Until then, hi-temp silicone works well for a one race solution.
Re: Exhaust blow by and o-ring manifolds
Seriously, I see a lot of karts are a mess, I don't have the problem like most others do. Yes I put new orings every race meeting, most times only 2 orings required.
YOU MUST GREASE the orings, otherwise they tear up when as soon as the pipe is slid on.
YOU MUST also have the pipe fitment combo setup so it does not move and in perfect fitment to the exhaust stub. I notice some people use springs on the cradle, I don't, I use massive stainless steel clamps.......of cause your cradle and it's mounts must not move out of place during the race either.
If you can't do that, silastic gaskets may help.
