What's the betting on who will lead our sport into the future after tonight?????
Will the incumbents get to "tour" again, or will the opposing candidates get the nod????
When you see cost of $60000 + for a committees conference (amongst other things) you would hope a change is in the air........

I wonder if Sept 21 will play on anyone's mind???
Good luck for tonight John,
Hope you get in!
I batting for Tevor Crane for President as well.
He won’t have the experience of the top job – but I’m betting he will have the humility and therefore will ask and not dictate (that will make a change hey!)
Let’s all hope that change will bring a positive note to the admin of the sport.
Governance SHOULD get the nod ....finally.
And then we should see some people at the top who are there for their capability and not just their availability.
I can’t wait to see the stability and growth that good management can bring.
I am looking forward to the results..
Regards
Ian
Just had some news on Governance - apparantly the version that put non skilled people into the board positions without any vetting has been voted down ...and so it should...!! good call ..
Looks like the only states to vote it down were probably those who were not offered a directorship on the board - however this paves the way to making sure we can put in place the requirement to have skilled people who are able to set a strategic plan in place coz sure as hell is hot the current lot have no idea what that is ..they have had 3 years and more and produced nothing other than an ability to spend money and employ tacticts to prevent you checking on it ....
More good news....We have a new president. The rest remains the same.
I don't know the new guy - Victorian, but I believe a change was needed, and I hope that this change will be for the better.
Ian, I actually withdrew my nomination.
We have a new President and not before time considering the fiasco that has been the last 3 years - but not all his doing either the misguided lunars that make decisions are also at fault - especially when one of them does not even understand the difference between the Members and the Council .
In order for governance to get a look in it needed to leave the baggage behind ..well thats never going to happen because those in "power" dont want to lose that power ,,and requireing skilled people to effect a board would negate their power or ability to retain power..
Whilst we have a new President - (I wont make the comment made at the previous NKC Council meeting by his own state member - you know what you called him don't you David!.....) We must support his efforts to refloat the sinking ship ..even if he still has the crew that spent $170K on dud engines and the "Commercial in Secret" clutch Loans affair ..and then to make the trifecta will be the ACCC penalty for the departing... Bon Voyage !
I understand that Trevor Crane from Victoria is the new AKA Oz National President
Congratulations and Best Wishes for yourself, the NKC and Australian karting !
So may i ask who was the parting party???
Arvin,
The past president was Richard Errdmann. His comment after the meeting was that he had had enough and did not want to stayanyway. WHY DID HE NOMINATE??????
RV,
You say that the new AKA president was S#^T canned at the VKA meeting last week. So was John McCleverty and I. Seems in Victoria, they don't like confrontation, ethics, morals, questions or honesty.....so they S#^T can people.
John,
Why did he nominate?? 2 reasons, 1 EGO, 2 a feint hope of a walk up seat of the board of Governance, the later now closed.
Any news on the late agenda item regarding closing the books to the outside world???
I'm led to believe the new President is Trevor Crane.
I believe only great things can come out of having a new president, especially Trevor. He has done quite a bit for the sport, and I am sure he will continue this within his new role as AKA president! :)
Paul,
Max has told us that he will provide us with what we are asking for.
AKAQ had committed to commence legal action if our requests are continually denied. There should be no need for that though. If a member asks a question, for an explanation, or proof of a transaction, that request MUST be honoured. For some reason, we continually get shunned and labelled as shit stirreres. I sometimes feel that the AKA exec and the NKC are SUPPOSED to represent the karters. If they were truly representing the karters, nothing would be secret.
We have been told that the documents we seek are "commercially sensitive" and therefore not available for inspection.(Errdman quote) Unfortunately, that is against the constitution, the law, and the incorporations act....Let's hope we don't have to prove it to them.
By the way, the NKC shitcan the hell out of me for being on this forum and telling everyone this stuff.......I'll get over it.
Hi John,
Thats normal, sadly, freedom of speech isn't available in the NKC.
You would have thought MrE would know what happens if you breach constitutions and the LAW by now????
did the item pass or NOT??
"commercially sensitive" RUBBISH!!! and excuse to HIDE things, the states are wise enough to [ or should be] handle this stuff.
I would hazzard a guess that the motion would not be allowed by the DFT as it could breach the associations act??? might be worth a question to them???
Max also said SKRC will have a new track as well and...........................
Let hope the new Pres can open the books up and keep inside all the laws he is required to?
