Hi Guys

Here is a link to the entry list for the Gamma Race Day meeting at Assen. 39 total entries

http://www.cikfia.com/competitions/cik-calendar/2013/assen/superkart/entry-list-drivers-without-starting-numbers-must-contact-the-cik-fia.html

I spot 3 drivers from Aus:

1. Carlo Chermaz
2. Jason Smith
3. Russell Jamieson

Good luck to all competitors. Not long now.

Best Regards

Ian :)

Really Dougie, that sucks. I would say the tracks there are really going to suit the chassis but it will take a bit of time to get it dialed in. I wonder what the problems are that they have. I know Carlo designed it from scratch with the Euro rule book in mind so I can't see any problems.
Anyway it won't ruffle him, go get em mate.

After a long time lurking time to make my first post :D Why did Carlo ship something all the way to Europe that has illegal bodywork ???

I would imagine there would be protests if it costs main European competitors valuable points. Can always put normal bodywork on if that's the case.

Hi guys :)

Yes it is the distance of the bubble to feet position at rest rule. What surprises me is why Russell created a bubble shield that is illegal as far as I can see too. I hope it has been sorted, Carlo went really well last time he came over and with high speed tracks like Assen and Magny Cours I hope he surprises a few people too with some good results. :D

Thanks for the update Ian.

Sam, Carlo put a fair amount of work in before he left to modify the nose cone/bubble so that it complies with the regulations. Hopefully all goes well as he has put in so much work and I know how much he loved raving over there last time.

Jase.

Hi Guys

Carlo's kart. Looking good on the Assen paddock paving.

Very cool, Ian do you know if he had problems, I noticed he didn't make it out for free practice and was off the pace in Q1 and Q2. I know he wouldn't have expected to be right on the pace as there is still so much to do with the chassis but I think he will be disappointed with that.

Hi Guys

Sorry, I can't shed any light on the reason for Carlo's lack of pace. I'm not at Assen, just picking up snippets of info here and there.

I was also interested that the new VM inline twin with Danny Bleek driving went exceptionally well in Q1, but never appeared in Q2. Be interesting to see how it gets on today in race 1.

Best Regards

Ian :)

Carlos having engine issues not sure what trying to find something now. No power past 12000. New brakes causing issues so going back to original setup. Said kart feels good besides that. Should be sorted before A1. I recked 3rd 6th gear dogs so would not change gears past 3rd. So had to pull in. Made it to 16 on first lap but started missing the gears and people started passing again before i pulled in. Russ doing great job we both having issues on same 3 spots on track. Changed ratio for next race tomorrow.

Hi Guys

Well done to Gavin Bennett? on a clean sweep of the weekend with his second Assen race victory. 2nd was Adam Kout, 3rd Emmanuel Vinuales?, 4th Liam Morley?, 5th Lee Harpham? and 6th Henrik Lilja?.

Gavin was particularly quick in sector 2 and now leads the virtual Championship from Vinuales, Hentschel, Harpham and Lijla.

The Oz guys scored an 11th with Russell Jameison, a 21st with Jason Smith and unfortunately Carlo Chermaz was a first lap retirement along with Dutchman, Danny Bleek? using the new VM engine.

Best Regards

Ian :)

Hi Ian,
The VM looked impressive in one of the races - appears to be willing to rev over 14000 - do you know any more about it?

Regards
Allan.

Hi Allan

It looks a pretty conventional tandem twin with Rotax gearbox and clutch. That's all I really know about it.
